Agro-tourism is the kinder of tourism which encourages agriculture which is combined with tourism, this has been tried in Uganda whereby farming has developed as a tourism product, and this has attracted many safaris in Uganda and East Africa at large, which has helped in increasing the revenues of the countries.
Agrotourism includes, growing of crops and keeping cattle to act as part of tourist attractions, these might include tea plantations common one in Uganda is Kyamuhunga Tea Plantation, coffee planting, cotton, flower plantations, and many more, then we also have cattle rearing, where tours come to learn to milk, seeing the treasured Ankole long-horned cattle these all are done mainly for tourism and in Uganda, they have been attracting tourists for safari tours to Uganda.
In Uganda, agro-tourism is mainly and commonly carried out in western part of Uganda and this helped in improving the lives of local people especially those working in tea plantation tourism, tourism cattle farms since they earn from tourists who come for safaris in Uganda.
The government of Uganda has however encouraged the development of agriculture in the country since it will help in solving the poverty issues within the country, by enforcing this, more tourists will be encouraged to safari Uganda and this will help in expanding the tourism industry.
