Day 1 – Kigali City
Our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel/ residence as early as 7 am and drive you to Juru Park, one of the highest points offering magnificent views of Kigali city center and countryside. Take pictures as you enjoy the cool view and breeze of the hills. You will then be driven to the Camp Kigali Belgian Memorial where 10 UN Peacekeepers from Belgium were murdered by the ruthless Hutu militants with aim of provoking United Nations withdrawal so they could launch a massacre on the Tutsi minority.
Proceed to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, one of the numerous burial grounds and a popular local tourist attraction where a large number of genocide victims (over 250,000) were buried after the killings. Explore the facility and get chance to see the skulls and bones of the deceased as the guide tells you the whole story and key events leading to this tragedy that shook the whole of Rwanda. You will also get to watch videos plus also meet survivors and victim families.

After a hearty lunch in the city, you will then proceed to Natural History Museum of Rwanda also known as the ‘Kandt House’, a place where you can learn more about Rwanda’s nature and wildlife behind closed doors. You will find replicas/ statues of many wildlife species as well as the natural wonders of the country all in one place.
End the trip with a visit to the Kimoronko Giant Market and experience the rwanda culture, a popular spot for tourists interested in hand-made local art and craft, find African clothing designs, beds, bracelets, hats as well as t-shirts to take back home as souvenirs.

Other interesting sites you could add to the itinerary include Gisozi memorial site, Nyamata church, Presidential palace museum, Ethnographic Museum, Green Park, shopping malls among other places.
