Biking in Uganda

Uganda is gifted with beautiful and well-structured landscape with undulating hills, rolling plain, valleys, raised plateaus and many more which provide the perfect scenery and environment for the ultimate biking experience.
Mountain biking is most popular in the Eastern region of Uganda on the foothills of Mt.Elgon. The biking trails run to Sipi Falls and go deeper into the surrounding villages. A mountain biking trail runs from Sipi trading centre to Chema Hill in Kapchorwa town. It should take 1.5 hours and provides views of various waterfalls and the Karamoja plains. The other areas popular for mountain biking include;
- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park; Mountain biking follows a well-maintained trail from the park headquarters at Buhoma to the Ivi River. Along this 13km trail you may see wildlife such as bushbucks, black-and-white colobus and red-tailed monkeys. The six-seven hour round trip departs in the morning, and is organized by Buhoma Community Rest Camp under the “Ride for a Woman“ community development initiative.
