Please note that the gorilla safari prices have greatly been affected by the gorilla permit price increase which is at $1,500 in Rwanda. To get a reduced price, you may choose to do gorilla trekking in Uganda landing in Rwanda and crossing the border where a permit is at $600. This is possible for all gorilla safari trips excerpt 1-day gorilla trekking all our itineraries are subjected to change (tailored) depending on one's choice.
Day 1: Transfer to Ruhengeri
Meet at your preferred hotel in Kigali at 10 am by your Adventure Trails Guide and thereafter, proceed to Parc National Des Volcans.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, drive to the foothills of the volcanoes in Northern Rwanda for gorilla trekking. Trekking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, strenuous and tiring, sometimes taking up to 8 hours in the forest. But coming in contact with the great primates is well worth the effort. You spend one hour with the gorillas which is a truly amazing experience. After lunch, you will be transferred to Gisenyi to relax at the Hotel.

Day 3: Depart to Nyungwe Forest
After breakfast, transfer to Nyungwe National Park. The road is panoramic along the Lake. Have lunch en route in Kibuye, Arrive at the lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking
Early start tracking for the chimpanzees, this can take anything from a few hours to a full day depending on where the chimpanzees are. It should be mentioned that it is not guaranteed to see the chimps as they are unpredictable and can move long distances in one day. There are several other primates in Nyungwe such as the Rwenzori colobus, L’Hoest’s monkey, Silver monkey, Owl faced monkey and the Grey-cheeked Mangabey. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 5: Return to Kigali
After breakfast, depart for Kigali. Have an optional city tour in Kigali including a visit to the genocide museum, the art and craft center, local markets. Later, hotel check-in. Dinner and overnight at Chez Lando Hotel/Kigali Serena Hotel/Mille Collines Hotel

Day 6: Transfer to Akagera National Park
You will drive to the east of Rwanda to Akagera National Park after being briefed about your safari. You will have an afternoon canoe ride on Lake Ihema. This will reward you with views of water-loving animals like Hippos, out-sized crocodiles and water birds like the Papyrus Gonolek, shoebill stork, and African fish eagle.

Day 7: Game Drives And Later Return to Kigali
After breakfast, you will go for the early morning game drive which will reward you with views of wildlife such as elephants, impala, black-tailed mongoose, hippos, oribi, bushbuck, antelope, zebra, cape eland, giraffe, buffalo, and also primates like the olive baboon, vervet monkey, bush baby. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the late afternoon, drive back to Kigali to be dropped off at your preferred hotel or transferred to the airport in time for departure flight.
