Overview

This 5 Days Gorillas and Game Safari will take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drives and a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, that connect Lake George and lake Edward in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. This Channel has the highest concentration of Hippos in the whole world, with over 700 species of birds. On a ‘good’ day, a cruise along the Kazinga Channel can expose you to more wildlife than you can find on any given game drive. You will then visit the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park where you will have a chance to trek the magnificent mountain gorillas. You’ll as well have an opportunity to visit the Batwa people in Bwindi and gain insight into their way of life. This 5 Days Gorillas and Game Safari starts and ends in Entebbe.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will be met by our guide at the Airport upon arrival to drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a journey that takes 6 -7 hours approximately. The guide will brief you on what to expect and whole itinerary for the 5 days. This journey will take you through Kampala- Masaka -Mbarara highway. You will have an opportunity to see Royal drum makers along the way and small markets. You will have a stop at the Equator to stretch and take some photographs. Lunch will be served en route and then you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight. Expect to see some crater lakes enroute to your lodge
Note: We assume your flight arrives in the Morning hours since we are traveling by road. We will advise before your travel.

Day 2 : Boat Cruise and evening Game Drives

In the morning, you’ll embark on a serene boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, linking Lake Edward and Lake George, setting sail around 9 am after a hearty breakfast. Glide along the tranquil waters, marveling at the picturesque landscapes and diverse wildlife that call the channel home. After the boat cruise, you’ll return to the lodge for a delightful lunch, where you can unwind and savor the flavors of the region. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge, soaking in the tranquil ambiance. As the evening approaches, gear up for an exhilarating game drive along the vast Kasenyi Plains. Keep your eyes peeled for the majestic Big Four and other fascinating wildlife that roam these plains, promising an unforgettable safari experience.

Day 3 : Ishasha later drive to Bwindi- Kisoro and evening batwa experience

Early Morning Breakfast followed by a game drive to the Ishasha sector of the park in search for the rear tree climbing lions, this game drive and journey may take abit long so you will have packed lunch with you. You have higher chances of seeing countless herds of Uganda kobs, herds of cape buffaloes, great herds of elephants, the defassa waterbucks and vervet monkeys spotted within the transit to Ishasha. Around noon after the search of the tree climbing lions, you will be transferred to Bwindi which is a one and a half hour drive. Following arrival at the lodge will check in, refreshments will be served, relax and head for Batwa experience which takes about two hours. Return later, wait for your dinner and overnight at the safari lodge

Day 4 : Gorilla Trekking and transfer to lake Bunyonyi

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for registration and to join others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your gorilla trek. Once this is done, you will set off for gorilla tracking. Trekking through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Tracking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest requires stamina and can often take most of the day depending on the movements of the gorillas in search of food. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds, and rare tree species.
After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with gorillas observing them and taking photos before trekking back to the park headquarter. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered creatures. After the activity will check out and the guide drives you to Bunyoyi for dinner and overnight stay.
